Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering respect and support for religious leaders, describing them as custodians of peace, moral guidance, and social harmony.
The governor made this known on Friday during the commissioning of the newly constructed Ajison Jumma’at Mosque at Gaa-Odota, Ilorin — a magnificent edifice founded by renowned Islamic scholar and community leader, Sheikh Abdullahi Olohunkemi Arademi.
Represented by Alhaji Razaq Lawal, a former Commissioner for Special Duties, Governor AbdulRazaq commended the invaluable contributions of clerics to the state’s development, particularly in promoting unity, moral discipline, and peaceful coexistence among citizens.
“Our religious leaders remain pillars of moral strength and social stability. Through their prayers, counsel, and teachings, they help nurture the next generation and sustain the peace that our communities enjoy,” the governor stated.
He further hailed Sheikh Arademi as a distinguished servant of Allah whose lifelong dedication to spiritual and community upliftment has greatly enriched Ilorin Emirate and beyond. He described the newly commissioned mosque as not only a house of worship but also a center for learning and community development.
Governor AbdulRazaq prayed that Almighty Allah would reward Sheikh Arademi abundantly for his enduring service to humanity and for his commitment to propagating Islamic values rooted in peace and compassion.
In his sermon, Sheikh Abdullahi Olohunkemi Arademi lauded Governor AbdulRazaq for his humility, people-oriented leadership, and continuous support for religious institutions. He appealed to Kwarans, particularly residents of Ilorin, to sustain their prayers and backing for the governor.
“Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is a God-sent, visionary leader who listens to his people and responds to their needs. With our collective prayers and cooperation, Kwara will continue to prosper under his leadership,” Sheikh Arademi declared.
The cleric also offered prayers for enduring peace, unity, and progress across Nigeria, expressing confidence that with the collaborative efforts of Governor AbdulRazaq, security agencies, and community stakeholders, the nation will overcome its current challenges.
