The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee in Ekiti State, Hon. Dare Adeleke, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Chief Yekini Ayoade Adeojo, who passed away on Thursday morning, April 4.
In a heartfelt message, Adeleke conveyed his condolences to the Adeojo family, describing the late Chief as not only a political figure but also a symbol of strength, integrity, and leadership.
Adeleke, who was personally close to Chief Adeojo, referred to him as an uncle and mentor. In his statement, he emphasized that Adeojo’s contributions to the political, business, and religious spheres were invaluable. He remarked on the late Chief’s role in the founding of the PDP and his distinguished service as a former Chairman of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and as the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the party.
“Chief Adeojo was more than just a political icon; he was a pillar of strength and integrity. His dedication to the democratic development of the South-West and Nigeria will never be forgotten,” Adeleke said. “His wisdom, resilience, and tireless efforts have shaped the party into what it is today.”
Adeleke also noted Adeojo’s esteemed position as the Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland, acknowledging his significant influence in both spiritual and cultural matters. He described Adeojo as a leader who exemplified compassion and faith through his life of service.
“As we mourn the loss of a mentor, a guide, and a figure of stability, I personally feel the loss of not only a political titan but also a beloved uncle, whose counsel and support I will dearly miss,” Adeleke continued.
He extended his condolences to Adeojo’s children, the entire Adeojo family, and to the people of Oyo State, including the Chief mourner, Governor Seyi Abiodun Makinde, for the loss of such an illustrious son.
“I pray that Almighty Allah grants him Aljanah Firdaus and gives us all the strength to bear this monumental loss,” he concluded.
