The Kwara State Government, led by His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, has officially commenced training for enumerators ahead of its highly anticipated mega empowerment initiative. The training session, which began today, January 23, 2025, marks a significant step towards the successful rollout of this transformative program designed to uplift the people of Kwara.

Princess Bukola Babalola, the Deputy Chief of Staff and Chairperson of the Empowerment Committee, made the announcement in a statement released to the press on Thursday in Ilorin, the state capital. She emphasized the administration’s commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and the equitable selection of beneficiaries, irrespective of political affiliation. The governor’s promise to ensure that the program remains apolitical reinforces the focus on addressing the needs of all Kwarans.

The mega empowerment initiative, which was first announced in late 2024, builds upon the successes of previous social investment programs, such as the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), renowned for its impact in empowering youth and supporting local traders. This upcoming empowerment initiative is expected to be the most expansive and impactful yet, with a wider reach and more substantial support for beneficiaries across the state.

Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration has long been recognized for its focus on economic empowerment, particularly among the youth and small-scale entrepreneurs. This new initiative is poised to enhance those efforts, offering further opportunities for job creation, skills development, and financial support to those who need it most.

As the state moves forward with the implementation of this program, the government remains steadfast in its determination to provide meaningful, lasting benefits to the people of Kwara. The training of enumerators is a crucial component of the program’s rollout, ensuring that the process remains thorough, fair, and efficient as it reaches its ultimate goal of providing widespread empowerment to the citizens of Kwara State.
