The People of Grace (POG), a charitable organization founded by Mrs. Hadizat Olajumoke Aderogba, celebrated its 5th anniversary on January 2, 2025, with a grand event at the Abeje Multipurpose Hall in Saki. The event brought together members, dignitaries, and community leaders to commemorate the association’s achievements and reaffirm its commitment to supporting the less privileged.
During her opening speech, Mrs. Aderogba, CEO of POG, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the members for their unwavering dedication over the past five years. She highlighted the organization’s impactful contributions, such as assisting schoolchildren, supporting widows, addressing mental health issues, and fostering collective growth through financial and material support from members. “This association is more than just a charity; it is a family united by a common goal of spreading joy and improving lives,” she said.
A key highlight of the celebration was the distribution of ₦20,000 each to fourteen widows, with a message encouraging them to use the funds wisely for their well-being. This initiative reinforced POG’s ongoing commitment to empowering vulnerable groups within the community.
Dr. Y.Y. Muslim, the Chairman of the occasion, praised POG for its significant impact on the community. He commended Mrs. Aderogba for her dedicated leadership and for steering the association to success, describing her as an inspiring figure whose efforts have led to meaningful, lasting change.
High Chief Abdulrasheed Gazali Adegoke, the Bagii of Saki, also delivered a goodwill message, recognizing Mrs. Aderogba’s vision and innate philanthropic spirit. He encouraged the group to continue supporting its members and expanding its efforts to assist vulnerable people in the community. “This association has proven its deep commitment to humanity, and I urge you to keep up the noble work,” he stated.
The anniversary event also honored members who made exceptional contributions to the association, presenting awards in categories such as teamwork and distinguished service. These awards acknowledged the dedication of active members who consistently supported the association’s mission.
Dignitaries attending the event included Dr. Y.Y. Muslim, Baale Sepeteri of Sakiland, Alhaja Balikis Adeleke of Alsafura Hospital, Matron Ojebode of ATISBO LG Primary Health Care, Aremo Femi Akinade Adetola, and Sheik Giyasudeen Agoro. The celebration was filled with an atmosphere of joy, entertainment, dancing, and reflections on the association’s remarkable progress over the past five years.
